White Wildflowers

Purplish Morning Glory
Calystegia purpurata

Vine crawling over other plants or on banks.
Perennial.
Blooms late spring to early summer. Brushy slopes and ridges. Fairly common through much of park.

Hill Morning Glory
Calystegia subacaulis

Low, trailing plant.
Perennial.
Blooms in  May & probably longer.
Open grassy fields. Slopes northwest of Arnold Cabin, Mahoney Ridge (near Mahoney Pond), Phegley Ridge.
Bindweed (Convolulus arvensis) is similar, but has smaller flowers and is seen in disturbed areas such as parking lots and roadsides.

Flowering stems usually 4 inches to 1 foot tall. Leaves narrow and grasslike. Flowers white or sometimes pink.

Blooms April-June. Usually sunny slopes and flats. Fairly common.

Flowering stems 6 to 18 inches tall.  Flowers creamy white, pendant, the three petals curved in a globular shape.

Shady woodlands.  Fairly common throughout the park.
