Walsh Peak from Kaiser-Aetna Road, Pacheco Creek Crossing at the "Big Culvert".
This road, which is three or four lanes wide at this location, was built when these lands were still in private ownership.  A major subdivision of "ranchettes" was planned, the road was built, but the project fell through, apparently due to scarce water supplies.  In the middle of the picture, the road crosses over the North Fork of Pacheco Creek; the waters flow through a "Big Culvert", a metal pipe which seems large enough to hide a bus within!  The road is not open to public use except during the once a year "Coe Backcountry Weekend" in the spring.

The golden color of the oaks in the picture show that this scene is in the late fall.
