Antirrhinum multiflorum. {++} STICKY SNAPDRAGON. WITHERED SNAP-DRAGON. Annual or short-lived perennial. Bl May-Sep. Dry slopes, burned areas. Uncommon. Blue Ridge N of Mt Sizer, S end of Mahoney Meadows, on ridge E of Eagle Pines, rd to Bear Mtn from E Fk at ca 2400 ft, Co Line Rd N of Mississippi Lake & S of lake, Center Flats Rd east of Center Flats.


Antirrhinum vexillo-calyculatum. {++} WIRY SNAPDRAGON. Annual. Bl May-Sep. Rocky slopes. Uncommon. Pine Ridge (Live Oak Tr, Corral Tr, Fish Tr), Middle Ridge (Fish Tr), the Short Cut near the base, Grizzly Ck, Coyote Ck near Gilroy Hot Springs, Red Ck Rd.


*Bellardia trixago. {++} MEDITERRANEAN LINESEED.  Annual.  Bl May-June.  Hunting Hollow, on cowpath on N side of valley.  Native of Mediterranean region.


Castilleja affinis. {++} INDIAN PAINTBRUSH. SCARLET CUP. COAST PAINTBRUSH. Perennial. Bl Mar-Jun. Dry wooded or brushy slopes. Uncommon. Pine Ridge (Flat Frog Tr), Soda Springs Cyn (Mile Tr), China Hole Tr (above Cougar Tr jct & on Mahoney Ridge side near top, Middle Ridge, Blue Ridge (rd to Laurel Springs Club, rd above Miller Field), Willow Ridge Tr, ridge E of Hoover Lake airstrip, Red Ck (W end Mt Stakes Tr), Rooster Comb, Mustang Pk.


Castilleja attenuata {+} (=Orthocarpus attenuatus). VALLEY TASSELS. NARROW-LEAVED ORTHOCARPUS. Annual. Bl May and probably longer.  Grassy places. Coe HQ campground, Corral Tr, W side of Jackass Pk, Willow Ridge.


Castilleja densiflora {+} (=Orthocarpus densiflorus). OWL'S CLOVER. Annual. Bl Mar-Apr. Grassy places. Miller Field, Rock House Ridge, Willow Ridge Tr, S Fk Orestimba between mouth of Hartman Ck and confluence with Red Ck.


Castilleja exserta {++} (=Orthocarpus purpurascens). ESCOBITA. OWL'S-CLOVER. Annual. Bl Mar-early Jun. Common in open fields and on grassy slopes throughout.


Castilleja foliolosa. {++} WOOLLY PAINTED-CUP. WOOLLY PAINTBRUSH. WOOLLY INDIAN PAINT-BRUSH. FELT PAINTBRUSH. Perennial. Bl Feb-May. Fairly common in dry, ± rocky places. Mahoney Ridge, Bear Mtn, spur ridge SE of Coit Lake, Pacheco Ridge, Red Creek cyn, Pinto Ck, Robinson Mtn, S Fk Orestimba Ck, SW of Mustang Pk, Coon Ck watershed.


Collinsia heterophylla {++} (=Collinsia bicolor). CHINESE HOUSES. INNOCENCE. PURPLE CHINESE HOUSES. Annual. Bl Mar-Jun. Common in shaded places throughout.  Populations on Pine Ridge and vicinity have nearly white flowers, rather than two-toned.


Collinsia sparsiflora. {++} SPINSTER'S BLUE-EYED MARY. FEW-FLOWERED BLUE-EYED MARY. Annual. Bl Mar-Apr. Grassy places and open woods. Common throughout.


Cordylanthus rigidus. {+} STIFFLY-BRANCHED BIRD'S-BEAK. MULE-WEED. Annual. Bl Jul-Sep. Locally abundant in scattered colonies on dry slopes and flats throughout.


Keckiella breviflora {++} (=Penstemon breviflorus). BUSH BEARDTONGUE. GAPING PENSTEMON. YAWNING PENSTEMON. Shrub. Bl May-Jul. Common on dry rocky slopes, especially on E side.


Keckiella corymbosa {++} (=Penstemon corymbosus). REDWOOD PENSTEMON. RED PENSTEMON. THYMELEAF PENSTEMON. Shrub. Bl Jul & probably longer. Rocky slopes and cliffs. Fairly common on side canyon off of Middle Fk Coyote Ck ca ½ mi NW of Deer Horn, not known elsewhere in park.


*Kickxia elatine. {++} SHARP-LEAVED FLUELLIN. Perennial. Bl late May-Sep. Creek beds and other open areas. Coyote Ck, E Fk Coyote Ck, Kelly Lake, Hunting Hollow.  Native of Europe.


Limosella acaulis. {+} SOUTHERN MUDWORT. Annual. Bl May-Jun (and probably longer). Muddy shores. Middle Fk Coyote Ck on wet bank in full sun (Thomas Addition); muddy shore of SE end Mississippi Lake.


Linaria canadensis. {++} BLUE TOADFLAX. Annual or biennial. Bl Apr-May. Dry slopes. In grassland along Rooster Comb Trail; on slopes next to pond NW of Robinson Mtn.


Mimulus aurantiacus. {++} BUSH MONKEYFLOWER. STICKY MONKEYFLOWER. NORTHERN MONKEYFLOWER. ORANGE BUSH MONKEYFLOWER. Shrub. Bl Mar-Jul. Common in rocky places throughout.


Mimulus bolanderi. {++} BOLANDER'S MONKEYFLOWER.  Annual.  Bl Apr-May.  Thomas Addition.


Mimulus cardinalis. {++} SCARLET MONKEYFLOWER. CRIMSON MONKEYFLOWER. Perennial. Bl May-Sep. Along streams or at springs, usually in shady areas. Fairly common throughout.


Mimulus congdonii. {?} CONGDON'S MONKEYFLOWER. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Moist soil. Thomas Addition; serpentine at NE corner of park.


Mimulus douglasii. {++} PURPLE MOUSE-EARS. CHINLESS MOUSE-EARS. BROWNIES. Annual. Bl Feb-Apr. Open gravelly places, loose soils. Uncommon. Pine Ridge (Corral Tr, Madrone Soda Springs Tr at upper end, Monument Tr, China Hole Tr), Thomas Addition, Miller Field, Willow Ridge Tr, Hartman Tr, S Fk Orestimba Ck (bank above ckbed N of Rooster Comb Ranch, at ford near confluence with Red Ck), along rd SW of Kingbird Pond, Coyote Creek Cyn (Coit Road, Anza Tr).


Mimulus floribundus. {++} FLORIFEROUS MONKEYFLOWER. Annual. Bl Apr. Moist places. Old China Hole Trail below jct with Cougar Tr.


Mimulus guttatus. {++} COMMON MONKEYFLOWER. YELLOW MONKEYFLOWER. SEEP-SPRING MONKEYFLOWER. Usually perennial. Bl Mar-Jul. Fairly common in moist or wet places throughout.


Mimulus pilosus {++} (=Mimetanthe pilosa). DOWNY MIMETANTHE. Annual. Bl May-Oct. Usually sunny creekbeds and along streams. Fairly common. Coyote Ck, Middle Fk Coyote Ck, Water Gulch, E Fk Coyote Ck, Kelly Cabin Cyn, Red Ck, pond near Snod Pk, S Fk Orestimba Ck in NE corner of park, N Fk Pacheco Ck.


Pedicularis densiflora. {++} INDIAN WARRIOR. Perennial. Bl late Jan-Apr. Fairly common on dry slopes and ridges, especially on W side. Pine Ridge (Flat Frog Tr, Manzanita Pt, China Hole Tr), Middle Ridge, Blue Ridge (N of Mt Sizer, Jackass Tr), the Narrows, Mississippi Ridge near lake, Upper San Antonio Valley (along N boundary fence), County Line Rd ascending Mustang Peak, westernmost fk of Coon Ck.


Penstemon grinnellii ssp. scrophularioides. {+} GRINNELL'S PENSTEMON. Perennial. Bl probably May-Jun. Two plants seen, N boundary of Orestimba Wilderness (and park) above 3300 feet.


Penstemon heterophyllus. {++} FOOTHILL PENSTEMON. CHAPARRAL PENSTEMON. VIOLET BEARDTONGUE. Perennial. Bl Apr-Aug. Fairly common on dry rocky hillsides and in creek beds throughout.


Scrophularia californica ssp. floribunda. {++} COAST FIGWORT. CALIFORNIA FIGWORT. CALIFORNIA BEE-PLANT. Perennial. Bl Mar-Sep. Dryish to moist ground, brushy thickets. Fairly common throughout.


Tonella tenella. {++} SMALL-FLOWERED TONELLA. BABY INNOCENCE. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Mostly shaded slopes. Pine Ridge (Flat Frog Tr, Hobbs Rd), Fish Tr, Poverty Flat, E Fk Coyote Ck (the Narrows, near base of rd up Bear Mtn), Coyote Ck gate.


Triphysaria eriantha ssp. eriantha {++} (=Orthocarpus erianthus ssp. erianthus). JOHNNY-TUCK. BUTTER-AND-EGGS. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Common in open places throughout.


Triphysaria pusilla {+} (=Orthocarpus pusillus). DWARF ORTHOCARPUS. DWARF OWL'S-CLOVER. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Grassy fields. Coe HQ campground, Thomas Addition, Mahoney Meadows at jct China Hole & Lost Spring Trs.


Triphysaria versicolor ssp. faucibarbata {++} (=Orthocarpus faucibarbata).  YELLOW OWL'S-CLOVER.  YELLOWBEAK OWL'S-CLOVER.  Annual.  Bl Apr-May.  Probably noted in Hunting Hollow.


*Verbascum thapsus. {+} WOOLLY MULLEIN. Biennial. Bl "Jun-Sep". One plant only in sand of E Fk Coyote Ck downstream from mouth of Little Long Cyn. Native of Eurasia.


*Veronica anagallis-aquatica. {+} WATER SPEEDWELL. BLUE WATER SPEEDWELL. BROOK PIMPERNEL. GREAT WATER SPEEDWELL. Perennial. Bl Apr-Sep. Wet places. Coyote Ck, Hoover Lake, Jackrabbit Lake, Dowdy Ranch, pond in side cyn of Hunting Hollow due west of mouth of Coon Hunter's Gulch. Native of Europe.


*Veronica arvensis. {++} CORN SPEEDWELL. WALL SPEEDWELL. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Moist areas. Soda Springs Cyn, Manzanita Pt, Kelly Lake, Red Ck, S Fk Orestimba Ck. Native of Europe.


*Veronica persica. {++} PERSIAN SPEEDWELL. BIRD'S-EYE. COMMON FIELD SPEEDWELL. Annual. Bl Feb-Jul. Lawns, fields, disturbed areas. Coe HQ, Madrone Soda Springs, Poverty Flat, Coyote Ck gate, E Fk Coyote Ck, westernmost fk Coon Ck. Native of Europe.
