*Anagallis arvensis. {++} SCARLET PIMPERNEL. POOR MAN'S WEATHER-GLASS. Annual. Bl Mar-Oct (recorded as early as Jan). Disturbed areas, roadsides, springs, and other generally moist areas; sometimes under chaparral where it seems to try very hard to look like a native. Fairly common throughout. Native of Europe.
Dodecatheon clevelandii ssp. patulum. {++} LOWLAND SHOOTING STAR. PADRES SHOOTING STAR. Perennial. Bl Feb-Apr (rarely as early as Dec). Common on grassy slopes and flats, especially sunnier areas, throughout; locally abundant in the Orestimba Wilderness. Look for the ssp. sanctarum, which might also occur in the park.
Dodecatheon hendersonii. {++} HENDERSON'S SHOOTING STAR. MOSQUITO BILLS. Perennial. Bl Feb-May. Common in shaded places throughout.
Trientalis latifolia. {++} PACIFIC STARFLOWER. WESTERN STARFLOWER. Perennial. Bl May (probably also April). Fairly common in shaded woods in Soda Springs Canyon; also in Sycamore Canyon and Big Canyon.
