Monterey Pine

Large, apparently native pine (middle left) on bluff above the Waterfall.
Younger pine, not obviously planted, at right---an offspring of the larger?

If these individuals were indeed not planted by human beings, they probably represented the easternmost wild Carmel Valley populations of the species.

From a slide processed November 1975.
