Sada Coe, the daughter of Henry W. Coe, Jr., for whom the park is named,
had only a few conditions attached to her gift of the original 12,500 + acre Pine
Ridge Ranch to the County of Santa Clara. One was that a monument to the
memory of her father be installed. This bas-relief on the top of Pine Ridge is it.
The Monument Trail is named for this, for it led to the Monument. Due to a misinterpretation
of older maps, the segment of the trail leading to the Monument was renamed, and is at
the moment considered a part of the Ponderosa Trail.

The road going up the side of Blue Ridge is the Short Cut, a section of Hobbs Road.
The Middle Ridge Trail can be seen in the clearings on Middle Ridge.
