Acanthomintha lanceolata. {++} SANTA CLARA THORNMINT. Annual. Bl Apr-Aug. Sunny talus slopes. Uncommon but fairly widespread throughout the park. Little Fk Coyote Ck cyn (Fish Tr), Middle Fk Coyote Ck (the Short Cut below 1700 ft), Coyote Creek gate, Grizzly Ck, side cyns of Red Ck NE of Bear Mtn, Pinto Ck, Robinson Mtn, S Fk Orestimba Ck.
*Lamium amplexicaule. {++} COMMON HENBIT. GIRAFFE HEAD. Annual. Bl Feb-early Jun. Fairly common in grassy areas and creekbeds of Coyote Ck watershed. Also noted in NE side of Orestimba Wilderness. Native of Europe.
*Marrubium vulgare. {++} WHITE HOREHOUND. COMMON HOREHOUND. Perennial. Bl Apr-Nov. Trailsides, horse camps, creekbeds and other disturbed areas. Common to fairly common and spreading. Coe HQ, Coyote Ck Rd, Coit Camp, Kelly Cabin Cyn, Kelly Lake, Hoover Lake, Fish & Game Pond, Pacheco Camp, Red Ck, Robinson Ck, Paradise Lake, S Fk Orestimba Ck (E & NE of Rooster Comb, sandy flats S of Rooster Comb), N Fk Pacheco Ck near Kaiser-Aetna Rd crossing & downstream, Dowdy Ranch, Hunting Hollow parking area. Native of Europe.
*Melissa officinalis. {++} GARDEN BALM. LEMON BALM. Perennial. Bl "Jun-Sep". Shady areas. Coyote Creek at mouth of Soda Springs Cyn. Native of Europe.
*Mentha pulegium. {++} PENNYROYAL. Perennial. Bl Jul-Aug (& possibly longer). Moist places. Coyote Ck at mouth of Big Cyn; S Fk Orestimba NW of Mustang Flat. Native of Europe.
*Mentha spicata. {++} SPEARMINT. Perennial. Bl Jul-Oct. Along creeks. Common along Soda Springs Ck and much of Coyote Ck; also in the Narrows and Water Gulch. Native of Europe.
Monardella villosa. {+} COYOTE MINT. Perennial. Bl May-Aug. Dry places. Common throughout park.
Pogogyne serpylloides. {++} THYME-LIKE POGOGYNE. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Moist grassy or brushy places. Along rd above Long Dam (Redfern Addition), meadow ca ¼ mi NW of Robinson Falls, hilltop ca ¾ mi N of Tie-Down Pk, Dowdy Ranch.
Salvia columbariae. {++} CHIA. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Dry rocky slopes. Fairly common throughout.
Satureja douglasii. {++} YERBA BUENA. Perennial. Bl May-Jun. Shaded woods. Generally uncommon, but appears to be fairly common in Redfern Addition. Yerba Buena Camp, Coyote Ck, Woodchopper Spr, Middle Fk Coyote Ck upstream of Upper Camp, E Fk Coyote Ck between mouths of Little Long Cyn & Water Gulch, Hunting Hollow, Red Ck, N Fk Pacheco Ck near Walsh Cabin.
Scutellaria siphocampyloides. {++} GRAY-LEAVED SKULLCAP. Perennial. Bl Apr-Jul. Fairly common in dry places, especially dry creekbeds. Little Fk Coyote Ck, Thomas Addition (Middle Fk Coyote Ck, Grizzly Ck), Coyote Ck (near China Hole), the Narrows, Little Long Cyn, Kelly Cabin Cyn, Hoover Lake, Mississippi Ck, side cyn of Red Ck NE of Bear Mtn, Robinson Ck, S Fk Orestimba Ck, Braen Cyn at base of Middle Steer Ridge Tr, tributary to Canada de la Dormida near.Vasquez Trail.
Scutellaria tuberosa. {++} DANNIE'S SKULLCAP. BLUE SKULLCAP. Perennial. Bl Apr-May. Borders of brush and woods. Uncommon, mostly on W side of park. Pine Ridge (Live Oak Tr, Corral Tr, Forest Tr, old Manzanita Pt), Fish Tr, Middle Ridge, Rooster Comb Tr.
Stachys ajugoides var. rigida {++} (=Stachys rigida ssp. quercetorum). RIGID HEDGE-NETTLE. RIGID BETONY. Perennial. Bl Apr-Aug (peak bl in May). Moist open woods and banks. Common W of Mississippi Ridge & S of Orestimba Corral; only record from Orestimba Wilderness is Hartman Ck.
Stachys pycnantha. {++} SHORT-SPIKED HEDGE-NETTLE. COAST STACHYS. Perennial. Bl Jun-Oct. Fairly common in moist places. Coyote Ck (from China Hole to mouth of Big Cyn), Grapevine Spring, Middle Fk Coyote Ck (Upper Camp & upstream, Poverty Flat), the Narrows, Water Gulch, Kelly Lake, Canteen Spring, Bear Spring, Caviata Spring, Red Ck, Pinto Ck, Robinson Ck, Paradise Lake, Lion Cyn, S Fk Orestimba (from confluence with Red Ck to NE park boundary), below Kingbird Pond, N Fk Pacheco Ck (Hole-in-the-Rock area).
Trichostema lanceolatum. {++} VINEGAR WEED. CAMPHOR WEED. BLUE CURLS. Annual. Bl mid Jun-early-Dec. Common, sometimes abundant, in dry fields and open places throughout.
