Emmenanthe penduliflora var. penduliflora. {++} WHISPERING BELLS. Annual. Bl Apr-Jul. Dry places. Uncommon except after chaparral burns. China Hole Tr (after Fall 1993 prescribed burn), Little Fk Coyote Ck, Poverty Flat (soils disturbed by rd grading), Blue Ridge N of Short Cut (in burned area), Divide Ridge, slopes of Red Ck cyn, S of Cone Pk, in serpentine above S Fk Orestimba in NE corner of park.


Eriodictyon californicum. {++} YERBA SANTA. MOUNTAIN BALM. Shrub. Bl Apr-early Jun. Common on dry rocky slopes & ridges, especially central & E sides of park.


Nemophila heterophylla. {?} VARIABLE-LEAVED NEMOPHILA. SMALL WHITE NEMOPHILA. CANYON NEMOPHILA. Annual. Bl "Mar-Jul". Light shade, slopes and canyons. Reported from Thomas Addition. See note under Nemophila pedunculata below.


Nemophila menziesii. {++} BABY-BLUE-EYES. Annual. Bl Feb-May. Common on moist flats and slopes in open woods, mostly on W side of park. Coyote Ck (on flat above SW entrance gate), Soda Springs Cyn, Pine Ridge (near Bass Pond, China Hole Tr), Poverty Flat, Blue Ridge (W & below Jackass Pk, Miller Field), Little Long Cyn, E Fk Coyote Ck, Willow Ridge (N end), N Fk Pacheco Ck, Upper San Antonio Valley, Hartman Ck, Kaiser-Aetna Rd between Dowdy Ranch & N Fk Pacheco crossing. Flowers white or pale lavender here at Coe, not sky blue as seen elsewhere.


Nemophila pedunculata. {?} MEADOW NEMOPHILA. SMALL NEMOPHILA. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Moist open or shaded places. Reported from Upper Camp and Soda Springs Canyon. A small sp of Nemophila is fairly common in much of the park, but I haven't been able to figure out if it belongs to this sp or to N. heterophylla, or even to a third sp, N. parviflora.


Phacelia breweri. {++} BREWER'S PHACELIA. Annual. Bl Mar-Apr. Dry rocky places. Generally uncommon. Soda Springs Cyn, Coyote Creek gate, bottom end of the Short Cut, E Fk Coyote Ck, Paradise Flat area, Long Ridge.


Phacelia cicutaria. {+} CATERPILLAR PHACELIA. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Fairly common on dry rocky slopes. Soda Springs Cyn, Coyote Creek gate, Middle Ridge, E Fk Coyote Ck (the Narrows), near mouth of Rock House Cyn, Willow Ridge, Pacheco Ridge, Red Ck, Robinson Ck, Hartman Ck, Mustang Flat watershed, Long Ridge, ridge E of Kaiser-Aetna Rd, Dowdy Ranch.


Phacelia imbricata. {+} IMBRICATE PHACELIA. ROCK PHACELIA. Perennial. Bl Apr-Sep (mostly in May). Dry rocky places. Fairly common throughout.


Phacelia phacelioides. {++} MOUNT DIABLO PHACELIA. Annual. Bl "Apr-May". Rocky places. NW of Robinson Ck.


Phacelia ramosissima. {+} BRANCHING PHACELIA. Perennial. Bl "May-Jul". Rocky places, in canyons. Near jct S Fk Orestimba Ck and Red Ck.


Phacelia rattannii. {++} RATTAN'S PHACELIA. Annual. Bl May. Brushy places. Along old China Hole Tr below jct Cougar Tr; near Pacheco Camp.


Pholistoma auritum var. auritum. {++} FIESTA FLOWER. CLIMBING NEMOPHILA. Annual. Bl Mar-May.  Shaded slopes and deep canyons.  Fairly common to uncommon. near Coyote Ck gate, N Fk Pacheco Ck, Red Ck & side cyns, Pinto Ck, Robinson Ck, Hartman Ck, S Fk Orestimba Ck (upstream from confluence with Red Ck, NE boundary area), mouth of Mustang Flat ck, Coon Ck watershed, Mustang Pk, Dowdy Ranch, Cañada de la Dormida.
