Ericameria arborescens (Haplopappus arborescens). Golden Fleece.
Shrub. The original record of this sp is from a single shrub seen in 1977 above the north bank of the Carmel River. This individual died within a few years and I do not know if there are others in newer sections of the park.

Biennial.  Bl January-July.  Frequently mistaken for Anaphalis margaritacea, Pearly Everlasting.

Annual. Bl all year. Common in disturbed areas, particularly sunny wet places as around La Mesa Pond. Native of the "Old World".
