Catalog Reproduction
This draft catalog is being put online as a service to botanists and naturalists of all levels. In compiling this work over the years I have had no funding of any kind, and do ask that if you find it useful enough to download, you remit a fee according to the guidelines and conditions below.
Upon payment of fees, permission is hereby granted to electronically reproduce one copy (plus one backup copy) of this catalog and one paper copy, provided that the copyright notice and this permission is included with all copies, even if this work is not reproduced in its entirety. For purposes of fee calculation, one electronic copy plus backup and one paper copy shall be referred to as a "set" even if a significant portion is not copied.
Fees: For each complete set downloaded and/or printed, remit to the author/publisher the sum of US$2.00. For each set downloaded and/or printed without photographs or other illustrations, remit the sum of US$1.00. For each incomplete set, defined as a copy of the catalog downloaded or printed with less than 50% of the content, remit the sum of US$1.00.
Remit to: Lee Dittmann, Mindbird Maps & Books, 14 S Main Street, Suite B, Cottonwood AZ 86326.
Or, you can remit online by clicking this PayPal button:
Although it is not supposed to do so, it is possible that the PayPal donation button might add a shipping fee to your donation. If so, I will refund the irrelevant shipping fee. Revisions: This work may be revised from time to time, and the revision date will be listed below the copyright date. Persons who have downloaded and/or printed earlier versions of this work may, without further charge, download and print the latest revision at no extra charge, provided that they delete the prior electronic version from their files and destroy the earlier paper copy.
Special Conditions for Free Use: There is, of course, no fee asked for viewing this document on this website (www.coestatepark.com). In addition, California State Park administrative and resource personnel may download and print copies of this document at no charge provided 1) all of the information on this page is included and 2) the material is used for professional purposes in the State Park employee's administrative or resource work. Activities related to the training of State Park Volunteers are specifically excluded from this definition of administrative or resource work. Finally, the persons I have credited with contributing information to this list are also exempt from the fee for the first set of copies they download and print.
The author here notes that the facts contained herein are not copyrightable, but that the format and phrasing of the descriptions are protected by copyright, as well as the photographs and other illustrations. Others may reformat the basic list of plants without violating copyright. Ethics and the scientific method, however, dictate that the source should be credited, as I have credited the persons who have reported plant identifications and ranges in this document.
A printed version of this catalog has been (more or less) in preparation and may be published before the end of 2010. It may contain features not found on the online version (such as basic descriptions of each plant), but will omit some features of the online version such as color photos, which are too expensive to print. It will be available, for a modest fee, for downloading as a PDF file, or you can have a copy printed on demand for a less modest fee, including a color plate section if you wish to pay extra for the color photocopies. If you would like to be notified when this publication is available for order, please send me your e-mail address. The cost will probably range around $2 for the PDF, 6-$8 for the paper copy.
