Lonicera hispidula var. vacillans. {++} HAIRY HONEYSUCKLE. CALIFORNIA HONEYSUCKLE. Climbing shrub. Bl May-Jul. Fairly common along streams and on wooded slopes on W side of park.


Lonicera interrupta. {++} CHAPARRAL HONEYSUCKLE. Shrub. Bl "May-Jul". Dry slopes. I have no notes on the range or abundance of this sp, but it was identified and illustrated by Sims & Mason (respectively), in their book Shrubs of Henry W. Coe State Park.


Lonicera subspicata var. denudata {++} (=Lonicera subspicata var. johnstonii). SOUTHERN HONEYSUCKLE. Shrub. Bl May-Jul. Dry slopes. Probably common throughout park: I've had difficulty learning this sp on sight, so my notes are rather spotty: Divide Ridge; Red Creek watershed; Coyote Creek entrance.


Sambucus mexicana. {++} BLUE ELDERBERRY. MEXICAN ELDER. Shrub or small tree. Deciduous. Bl Mar-Jul. Common in open woods, sometimes in chaparral; canyons, hillsides and flats throughout.


Symphoricarpos albus var. laevigatus {++} (=Symphoricarpos rivularis). COMMON SNOWBERRY. Shrub. Deciduous. Bl Jun-Jul. Banks and flats in canyons and near streams. Fairly common, mostly on W side. Soda Spr Cyn, Pine Ridge (Corral Tr, Cougar Tr, Manzanita Pt), Big Cyn, Little Fk Coyote Ck, Middle Fk Coyote Ck (Poverty Flat, upstream from Upper Camp, near Skeels' Mdw), Blue Ridge (Tr to Black Oak Spr), Water Gulch, Mahoney Ridge (Tr to Grapevine Spr), Willow Ridge Tr, S Fk Orestimba Ck (sandy wash S of Rooster Comb), Hunting Hollow, Braen Canyon.


Symphoricarpos mollis. {++} CREEPING SNOWBERRY. SPREADING SNOWBERRY. Shrub. Deciduous. Bl May-Jun. Common on shaded slopes, especially on W side of the park. Pine Ridge, Little Fk Coyote Ck, Kelly Cabin Cyn, Willow Ridge, Pacheco Ridge, Mississippi Ck, Hartman Ck, Coon Ck watershed, Grizzly Gulch.
