Rosin Weed

A member of the Asteraceae, or Composite Family

Flower heads and portion of inflorescence.

The ray flowers are expanded as shown in this image
only during cooler times of day.  During the heat of midday and afternoon
typical of their summer blooming period, the rays look shrivelled and ready
to set seed.  But come back in early evening and you will be delighted
by the unexpected splash of color.
