Barberry Family

Berberis pinnata {?} (=Mahonia pinnata). CALIFORNIA BARBERRY. Shrub. Bl "Mar-May". Known only from a wooded ravine just W of Madrone Soda Springs. The plants in question are definitely Berberis and appear closest to this sp, but seem to have the longer, persistent bud scales of Berberis nervosa.
