Angelica tomentosa. {+} CALIFORNIA ANGELICA. Perennial. Bl Jul-Aug. Moist shaded canyon bottoms. Uncommon. Middle Fk Coyote Ck; Coyote Ck at mouth of Soda Springs Cyn.


*Anthriscus caucalis {++} (=Anthriscus neglecta var. scandix). BUR-CHERVIL. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Disturbed areas in shade. Soda Springs Cyn; ridges SW of Bear Mtn; Red Ck, etc. Native of Europe.


Apiastrum angustifolium. {+} WILD-CELERY. MOCK PARSLEY. Annual. Bl "Mar-Apr". Dry places.


*Apium graveolens. {++} CELERY. Perennial. Bl "May-Jul". Wet places. One plant in seep below visitor center at Coe HQ, which did not persist.  Native of Europe. 


Bowlesia incana. {++} BOWLESIA. Annual. Bl Mar-May. Fairly common on shaded slopes, but inconspicuous. E Fk Coyote Ck, Coyote Ck gate, Pacheco Camp, Pinto Ck, S Fk Orestimba Ck.


*Conium maculatum. {++} POISON-HEMLOCK. Biennial. Bl May-Jun. Disturbed areas. E Fk Coyote Ck (one plant near boundary, at least one S of the mouth of Little Long Cyn, at least one in the Narrows); one plant Coyote Ck gate (destroyed); small colonies in Hunting Hollow. Native of Europe. 


Daucus pusillus. {++} RATTLESNAKE WEED. AMERICAN CARROT. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Dry slopes. Common throughout.


*Foeniculum vulgare. {++} FENNEL. SWEET FENNEL. Perennial. Bl Jul-Sep. Disturbed areas. One on Pine Ridge along rd W of Fish Tr jct; Hunting Hollow near mouth and nearby along Gilroy Hot Springs Road; many along Kaiser-Aetna Rd near the Pacheco Ck crossing, and also close to Bell Station gate. Native of Europe. 


Lomatium californicum. {+} CHU-CHU-PATE. CALIFORNIA LOMATIUM. Perennial. Bl Mar-May. Wooded or brushy slopes. Soda Springs Cyn, the Narrows, Little Long Cyn, N Fk Pacheco Ck, Robinson Ck valley at mouth of Pinto Ck, Mustang Peak. I originally had some confusion distinguishing this sp from Tauschia kelloggii when not in fruit, but now feel more or less confident on the distinction.  (I have removed T. kelloggii from the list at this time, since it is very unclear if it occurs at Coe at all.)


Lomatium dasycarpum. {++} LACE PARSNIP. WOOLLY-FRUITED LOMATIUM. Perennial. Bl Feb-Apr. Dry ridges or rocky places. Common through most of the park, e.g. Mahoney Ridge, Rock House Ridge, Robinson Mtn, Hartman Ck.


Lomatium macrocarpum. {?} SHEEP PARSNIP. LARGE-FRUITED LOMATIUM. Perennial. Bl "Apr-Jun". Dry stony places. Reported from eastern side of park.


Lomatium nudicaule. {++} PESTLE PARSNIP. Perennial. Bl "Apr-Jun". Open slopes and plains. Uncommon, seen only in Upper San Antonio Valley near park boundary.


Lomatium utriculatum. {++} BLADDER PARSNIP. COMMON LOMATIUM. Perennial. Bl Mar-Apr. Grassy slopes and flats. Probably fairly common throughout (I tend to ignore Lomatiums given the difficulty in keying them when not in fruit). Pine Ridge (Monument Tr, Springs Tr), Madrone Soda Springs Tr, Middle Ridge (near jct Hobbs Rd and Middle Ridge), Rock House Ridge, rd up Bear Mtn from W, Orestimba Corral area, Mustang Pk, E of Burra Burra Pk.

 
Osmorhiza brachypoda. {++} CALIFORNIA SWEET-CICELY. Perennial. Bl Apr-May. Shaded woods. Apparently uncommon. Fish Tr, Forest Tr, Little Fk Coyote Ck upstream from rd crossing S of Frog Lake.


Osmorhiza chilensis {++} (=Osmorhiza nuda). MOUNTAIN SWEET-CICELY. WOOD CICELY. Perennial. Bl Mar-May. In woods. Fairly common W side of park, e.g. Pine Ridge (Fish Trail), Soda Springs Cyn, Little Fk Coyote Ck, Middle Ridge, N end of Mahoney Ridge, Big Cyn, Grapevine Spring.

 
Perideridia californica. {++} CALIFORNIA YAMPAH. Perennial. Bl Apr-Jul. Fairly common along streams throughout.


Perideridia kelloggii. {+} KELLOGG'S YAMPAH. Perennial. Bl late May-Aug. Common on grassy ± shaded banks throughout.

 
Sanicula bipinnata. {++} POISON SANICLE. Perennial. Bl Mar-May. Fairly common on shaded or open slopes throughout.


Sanicula bipinnatifida. {++} PURPLE SANICLE. Perennial. Bl Mar-May. Common in open, usually sunny places throughout.

 
Sanicula crassicaulis. {++} GAMBLEWEED. PACIFIC SANICLE. Perennial. Bl Mar-early June. Common on shaded and wooded slopes throughout.

Sanicula saxatilis. {++} DIABLO SANICLE. ROCK SANICLE. Perennial. Bl "May-Jun". Talus slopes. Uncommon.


Sanicula tuberosa. {++} TURKEY-PEA. TUBEROUS SANICLE. Perennial. Bl late Feb-Apr. Fairly common on open or wooded slopes. Pine Ridge, Middle Ridge, Blue Ridge, Willow Ridge, Red Ck, S Fk Orestimba Ck, Mustang Flat, Rooster Comb Tr.

 
*Scandix pecten-veneris. {++} SHEPHERD'S NEEDLE. VENUS' COMB. Annual. Bl late Mar-Jun. Fairly common in grassy areas on west side of park. Soda Springs Cyn, Pine Ridge, and Blue Ridge; also at Dowdy Ranch. Native of Eurasia.

 
Tauschia hartwegii. {++} HARTWEG'S TAUSCHIA. Perennial. Bl Mar-May. Uncommon on wooded or brushy slopes through much of the park. Soda Springs Cyn, Coyote Ck cyn, Pine Ridge (the Monument, Flat Frog Tr), Skeels' Meadow, Blue Ridge, County Line Rd near Mississippi Lake, Pinto Ck.

 
*Torilis arvensis. {++} SPREADING HEDGE-PARSLEY. SPREADING BUR-PARSLEY. Annual. Bl May-July. Mostly in woodlands. Common through much of park, especially W side. Native of central & southern Europe.


*Torilis nodosa. {++} KNOTTED HEDGE-PARSLEY. Annual. Bl Apr-May. Open woodlands or shaded slopes. Common, though not usually as common as Torilis arvensis. Madrone Soda Springs, Coyote Ck (just downstream from China Hole), Pine Ridge, Kelly Lake area, Red Ck near Hatch Spring, downstream from Pacheco Ck crossing of Kaiser-Aetna Rd. Native of Eurasia.

 
Yabea microcarpa {++} (=Caucalis microcarpa). CALIFORNIA HEDGE PARSLEY. Annual. Bl "Apr-Jun". Open and shaded slopes. Apparently uncommon. Soda Springs Cyn; side cyn to W of Red Ck; Kelly Cabin Cyn.
